iWeb have given the Bibendum website a dramatic upgrade that will really improve the way it interacts with its visitors. With simple straight forward navigation, clear and concise web design and high level payment security, visitors can find and acquire their wine easily and quickly.
Bibendum is one the UK’s biggest wine companies, employing over 200 staff, and a company turnover of around 120 million pounds a year. Bibendum supplies all the major high street wine shops and supermarkets as well as bistros, restaurants, cafes, airlines, sports venues, hotels and party planners.
The main concept behind the redesign was to make the buying process much easier for visitors. A complete overhaul of the sidebar navigation enables visitors to get to the products they are after in just one click from the home page. With the introduction of filtering and sorting of products by regions, type, BIN ends, fine wine and en primeur the visitor can quickly and easily locate a very specific wine selection.
By incorporating new category landing pages the site is not only easier to navigate for visitors but also for the all important Search Engines. The site is now optimised so that rankings will improve for specific wines, types and regions.
It is even more safe and secure to purchase wine from Bibendum. Payments are processed using an external card processing company called Protx which is compliant with new government laws.
At the same time the focus in making the site more design led had huge importance. A new look home page featuring AJAX technology, clearer product pages and easier, quicker access to special offers mean visitors can get to the wine quicker. Now that’s what we like!
