It’s been a very long time in the making but here it is, the new iWeb brand and website. We hope you like it as much as we do!

Our new website has been built completely from scratch. Focusing on content, we spoke to current and perspective clients to gain and insight into what information was most important. From here we were able to create content hierarchies, user flows and wireframes.

From there we moved on to creating mood boards and ideas for the look and feel of our new website. This included colour schemes, inspiration from other websites, as well as inspiration from outside the web. Using Adobe Photoshop we created designs for each page. As well as comprehensive design layouts we used prototypes to demonstrate interactive elements and how the page would respond across different screen sizes and devices.

Once we were happy with the look, feel and interaction of the prototype pages we wrote the final production code. This was to ensure the code was lean and fast. We made use of a number of modern web technologies, a CSS preprocessor, SASS and the jQuery JavaScript library.

The iWeb site is powered by WordPress. WordPress is our primary choice for content management. It’s a flexible, open source framework, used across the web by individuals, small businesses, all the way to large enterprises, such as Microsoft’s recently lunched European presence. WordPress has an easy to use administration area, along with a great selection of community developed extensions to help us optimise our website for speed and search engines.

Some of our portfolio pieces now feature short behind the scenes videos. Make sure to check them out.

Over the coming weeks and months we’ll be going into further detail on how we designed and built our new branding and website.
