Hunkydory are an award winning craft supplier based in Preston. A family ran business founded in 1990, they now occupy a 10,000 square ft craft superstore. Hunkydory products are stocked in retailers across the globe. They host regular craft events, selling tickets through a dedicated website. Hunkydory produce their own television show that is aired each week on satellite TV and on their YouTube channel.

Their business has now grown to include four different websites for each brand they own. These websites include trade sales, craft products and ticket sales of their events.

Hunkydory wanted a solution that would be able to cater for their growing needs as a supplier business. Using a combination of Magento eCommerce and WordPress we were able to deliver a solution that manages all their brands from one administration area. This provides a seamless experience for customers as they browse the eCommerce and editorial sections of the website.

Their brand new responsive website delivers an optimised experience on all devices, including mobile. From 21st April Google announced it will be prioritising mobile friendly content for mobile searches. This means that Hunkydory’s brand new website is already optimised for these upcoming changes.

With a global market, Hunkydory wanted to ensure the website was accessible for everyone. A prominent switcher allows people to view prices in several different currencies.

A large portion of Hunkydory’s business involves distributing their products to other retailers. The brand new trade section allows retailers to login and view tiered trade prices. This new functionality means retailers are able to quickly and efficiently order new stock anytime of the day.

Community is important for Hunkydory and the craft industry. Hunkydory wanted to provide an area that allows people to share their creations with other customers. Club Hunkydory is an editorial section, managed through the content management system, WordPress. Club Hunkydory includes tutorials, galleries and news from in and around the craft industry. The Social Hub integrates Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter allowing people to interact with the company.
