The UK eCommerce Awards celebrate the very best in eCommerce and online retailing from across the UK. That’s why we are naturally chuffed to have made the shortlist for ‘B2C eCommerce Website Of The Year’ for our work with the British Heart Foundation.

We’ve been working with the BHF for several years now, first taking on their eCommerce Gift Shop using Magento 1 back in 2016 (also shortlisted at the Northern Digital Awards) and then most recently, migrating them to Magento 2. Having outgrown their Magento Community version 1.9, we worked with the BHF team to make the upgrade to Magento Commerce, ensuring that they harnessed the full power of the world’s leading digital commerce platform.

Primary objectives

  • To generate more revenue online by making it easier for supporters to purchase and donate securely online.
  • Raise the profile of, and support other activities within, the BHF. For example, a school purchasing dodge balls for £25 might use them to fund raise £250 for the BHF. This means that the success of the Shop cannot be judged solely by revenue.

Features & functionality

Here are just some of the top level features that have contributed to an overall upturn in organic traffic, conversion rates and revenue since going live:

  • Ability to list products on multiple Amazon marketplaces with real time order and inventory management from Magento
  • Integrated with proprietary back office systems
  • Advanced SEO enhancements including product schema markup and reviews
  • Re-designed in line with recently updated BHF rebrand, the powerful identity that makes their charity so recognisable and trusted
  • Donation upsells when adding products to cart
  • PayPal payments for fast checkout
  • Follow up emails for customers who have abandoned baskets before checkout

The Awards

The awards this year take place on Wednesday 6 March at The Montcalm Marble Arch in London.

It’s always nice to recognised for your hard work but to be completely honest what everyone at iWeb proud of is the positive difference we’ve been able to make for the British Heart Foundation.

Thousands of pounds more donations (and rising), all going towards research that will save people’s lives.

So, if we win an award, that’d be cool. But if we don’t, then hey-ho, we’re delighted to have been able play our part in helping BHF beat heartbreak forever.
