The retail industry as we know it has been completely shaken up by the Covid-19 pandemic. Store closures, changes in consumer behaviour, new ways of working and a need for agility and quick thinking have all had a big impact.

Internet Retailing in association with Adobe, have produced a white paper report exploring the impact of the pandemic on retail as a whole, as well as investigating how different retailers have managed the change.

The report features our work with Caterite Foodservice, who up until now, had been working within a niche B2B market and had been sheltered from the wider move within retail to omnichannel. After just two days of lockdown, we helped them to switch a B2C eCommerce strategy as they quickly realised that their regular business of supplying wholesale to the hospitality industry was going to be badly affected by the Covid-19 lockdown.

Before this pivot, Caterite Foodservice had never taken card payments online. By remaining agile and adjusting to the change in our economy, they have hugely accelerated their long-term digital goals due to the pandemic.
