What we solveProblem recognition · Recurring patterns
Ecommerce problems rarely start with one thing.
A platform becomes hard to change. Data stops lining up. Integrations become fragile. A project loses momentum. These are the problems iWeb is usually brought in to fix. The eight problems below come up repeatedly in complex ecommerce projects.
01
Challenge 01
We fix this by
We review how the business trades and where the current platform is holding it back, then recommend the right route forward, which may mean improvement, replatforming or full replacement.
The platform no longer fits.
The platform has become expensive, slow to change and difficult to maintain.
Releases take too long, cost too much and carry more risk than they should.
02
Challenge 02
We fix this by
We plan the work properly and remove the main risks before launch. We agree a date only after the main risks and dependencies are understood.
Replatform risk.
The proposed timetable does not account for the data, integrations, testing and operational work involved.
Launch feels risky. The people who set the timeline are not the people who will have to run it.
03
Challenge 03
We fix this by
We audit the data, identify its owners and resolve conflicting definitions before rebuilding the model from a single agreed source.
The data is broken.
There is no single source of truth.
Product, customer and order data do not line up between systems. Reports disagree. Nobody is sure which number is right.
04
Challenge 04
We fix this by
We map the systems, data flows, failure points and ownership before deciding what needs repairing, replacing or simplifying.
The integrations are the problem.
The storefront may be fine, while the ERP, PIM, OMS, payments, search or fulfilment integrations are causing the real problems.
These systems move at different speeds, sit with different owners and rarely get looked at together.
05
Challenge 05
We fix this by
We stabilise the immediate problem, identify the underlying cause and then fix the parts that need rebuilding.
Performance and stability.
Performance has deteriorated under real trading load.
Slow page delivery, checkout under pressure, search returning inconsistent results, third-party scripts adding weight, releases that regress the site, or database and integration bottlenecks under peak traffic.
06
Challenge 06
We fix this by
We take control of delivery, reset the plan and deliver in stages, with senior people making the important decisions.
A project that has stalled.
The project is already in flight, and not going well.
Milestones are slipping, ownership is unclear, and status meetings produce more questions than answers.
07
Challenge 07
Often missed
We fix this by
We establish the cause before recommending a platform change. Sometimes the right answer is to improve the systems, ownership or delivery around the existing platform.
It's not always the platform.
Sometimes the platform is fine.
The underlying issue is delivery, ownership, data, integration design, internal process, supplier coordination, unclear requirements or accumulated technical debt.
08
Challenge 08
We fix this by
We work out what the platform now needs to support and the safest way to get there.
Growth is constrained.
The business has moved on. The platform hasn't.
New channels, customer groups, pricing models, acquisitions or operational processes can leave the original ecommerce setup behind.
These are familiar problems.
