A Magento Project Close To My Heart: BHF

So, today is an exciting day for me! It marks my 1 year anniversary as Project Manager here at iWeb and, not only that, it is launch day for one of my projects. One that is very close to my heart. Pun intended 😉

A New Magento Website For The British Heart Foundation

Since the project kick-off in November 2015, it has been an exciting 7 months with all the usual twists, turns, ups and downs, but I have to admit it’s been mostly ups and an absolute pleasure to work with the eCommerce Manager and his team at BHF.

They came to iWeb because they were looking to make their online store more consistent, fully responsive and easier to use for customers wanting to purchase and donate, so that is exactly what we have given them.

Consistent Design & Brand Image

Their existing site felt very disjointed from the refreshed look and feel of the main BHF website and so our team created a site that incorporated the best of the main site, such as its simplistic colour scheme, the large imagery and the powerful red navigation bar.

Fully Responsive

BHF recognised that the number of online shoppers using smartphones and tablets has been rapidly increasing, and therefore, so did the importance of making their online store able to adapt to any device. It is now possible to visit the BHF Shop from any device and have the same high quality user experience.

Supporting BHF Is Now Even Easier

The new section found in the basket makes it easier and simpler for customers to donate to this amazing charity and also declare gift aid so that the British Heart Foundation can reclaim the tax and use it to further support their cause. “This is a really important source of income for our work to tackle heart disease. Gift Aid was worth £10.2m to our lifesaving work between April 2011 and April 2012.”

Behind The Scenes

This site is not just a pretty face. Our developers have integrated with the BHF systems and extended the Magento functionality with modules for additional transactional emails, low stock notifications, SEO enhancements and more!
