This week Magento announced that Magento 2.3.1 Open Source and Magento Commerce will be released on March 26th 2019.

This release will feature Page Builder, the long awaited WYSIWYG content editor, along with performance updates and security patches.

On the same day, updates will be released for Magento 1, 2.1 and 2.2.  All of these releases will include essential security updates, which are recommended to be implemented as soon as possible.  Updates, release notes and documentations will be released for the following platforms:

  • Magento Commerce and Magento Open Source 2.3.1, 2.2.8 and 2.1.17
  • Magento Open Source 1.9.4.1
  • Magento Commerce 1.14.4.1

About Page Builder

The new Page Builder functionality within Magento will allow users to create amazing looking webpages with no coding required.  Features will include:

  • Drag and drop content creation
  • Content block editors
  • Live previews and updates to your design
  • Form editors for data collection

What this means for your website

For all current customers, we will be applying relevant patches shortly after release as part of our ongoing commitment to support your Magento website.

There should be minimal disruption to the site, however, you may notice a small amount of downtime whilst the upgrade is applied.
