On the 19th April 2018, 3 excited marketers from the iWeb family, headed to London to attend an unmissable event: the dotmailer Summit. With keynote speakers such as Karen Brady, Wayne Hemmingway and many more, our hopes were high and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Here’s a recap of what happened during the day’s event and what beacons of knowledge we’ve brought back with us, all to the benefit of our clients.

What is The dotmailer Summit?

The dotmailer Summit was a whistle-stop one-day event which granted us access to all the experts from the dynamic digital industry. We learnt about new tools and products, as well as the latest trends that are transforming the way we market our goods and services.

dotmailer’s Summit was designed to empower you and your business to achieve excellence. – dotmailer

It involved a series of inspirational talks focusing on individual businesses who have achieved monumental success using exclusive marketing tactics. So, what did we learn?

The Announcements

First things first, before getting into some of the top tips we learnt, we must mention the huge announcements that dotmailer made regarding the platform. These include:

  • 30 new automation templates to create highly targeted, automated email campaigns that generate results.
  • dotmailer is now integrated with Google AdWords and Facebook Messenger.
  • There has been an addition of new omnichannel features enabling you to send campaigns via SMS.

Our Top 5 Moments

Of course, the entire day was filled with useful insights that will help us drive success for our clients in the future. However, there were a few particularly memorable moments including the interesting (and very persuasive) talk from web psychologist, Nathalie Nahi, the series of hilarious GIFs from Chris Kubbernus aka Kubby and the moving talk from leading entrepreneur, Wayne Hemmingway.

#2 Wayne Hemmingway’s Entire Speech

If you’d love to hear how an ordinary person created a million-pound business, you want to speak with Wayne Hemmingway. He told us his story from day one, detailing all the obstacles he had to overcome and how he currently continues to grow and develop his company. We saw some useful snapshots of his business and saw that by having the right attitude, it can unlock many doors to success.

#3 The 1,000+ People We Met

It wouldn’t have been such a successful event without the attendees themselves turning up. Thankfully we got to meet some friendly new faces as well as catching up with those familiar faces. We saw lots of our partners including Klevu, Nosto and of course, Magento.

#4 The Great Selection of Cakes

We can’t mention the Summit without mentioning the super tasty selection of desserts that were on offer to us. From the chocolate mousse to the croissants to the fruit-filled pancakes, there was lots of choose from to keep our energy levels high as we witnessed an inspirational array of talks throughout the day.

#5 dotmailer Freebies

Who loves a freebie? Most people do! dotmailer blessed us all with some fantastic new features that will make your email marketing lives a lot easier. As automation is a significant aspect of marketing to date, making use of dotmailer’s email automation is imperative – though it’s perceived as a difficult task. Thankfully with 30 free automation templates, you can now create email savvy campaigns to get ahead of the game.

Automation improves your marketing efficiency by 12%. –

Not only this but as giving your customers an omnichannel experience is also another factor contributing to business success, dotmailer have provided you with the ability to send target email campaigns as SMS messages or better, via Facebook Messenger.

Facebook Messenger had around 1200 million users in April 2017 and that figure is suspected to grow this year. But, what does that mean? As users are demanding a more personalised experienced, they want to be contacted in the places they exist. That often being social apps like Facebook rather than on their emails. So, it’s your job to market to them on these channels. With the new omnichannel integration, you can do just that.

Summary

From the above, I’m sure you can gather we had a fun-filled day at the dotmailer Summit. As you couldn’t join us, here is the slide deck to the wonderful web psychologist, Nathalie Nahi. Take a look to learn the art of online persuasion.
